The Institute for Media and Communication Policy has expanded the media database mediadb.eu to include all European media markets. The aim is to make the ownership and power structures of European media markets more transparent and comprehensible. In contrast to comparable projects by academic institutions, which process facts and figures in a strictly scientific manner, mediadb.eu will endeavour in the long term to make the media landscapes of all 27 European member states and beyond accessible to a broader, interested public.
National and regional media markets in Europe are increasingly being controlled by internationally operating media groups and conglomerates. This is why mediadb.eu documents the largest and most relevant players in the European media industry.
